The Los Angeles Lakers held a seven-point advantage over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, leading 20-13 after a Jodie Meeks jumpshot with 5:30 remaining in the first quarter. From there, though, Doc Rivers' club went on a little run.
Well, I guess you could call it kind of a big run.
OK, they outscored the Lakers 129-74 for the rest of the game. And it kind of didn't feel that close.
The Clippers destroyed the Lakers on Thursday by a score of 142-94. This wasn't just worse than the 39-point spanking the Clips laid on the Lakers back in January, and it wasn't just worse than the beating the Clips handed the Philadelphia 76ers last month. This was a 48-point annihilation that stands alone as the largest margin of victory in the history of the Clippers franchise, going all the way back to the Buffalo Braves days.
Moreover, though, this was the largest margin of defeat in the history of the Lakers franchise, even worse than the 46-point hammering that the 1994-95 Lakers suffered at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers. And it came from Former Little Brother, on the Staples Center court, on national television. This is about as bad as it has ever gotten for the purple and gold.
I am loving this I hate the lakers

As a life-long Laker fan, I have to give props to the the championship-less Clippers. Sterling finally learned to get out of the way and let somebody that knows something about basketball make decisions. Having said that, if you want to crow about beating a Laker team without Kobe, Nash, Hill, Young and Kaman, knock yourself out. The Lakers will still win another chip before the Clippers do and Doc will have another banner to cover over.

Ermm...the Lakers beat the Clippers in the 1st meeting (season-opener). In the last game, Clippers beat the Lakers by 36 and the Lakers were missing Kobe, Nash, Blake, Farmar and Henry while starting recent D-league call up Kendall Marshal at PG in only his 5th game. It amazes me the number of people that are not only screaming for D'Antoni's resignation but the even larger number of people that think beating the Lakers this season is a big deal...lmao As Laker fans, we realise that this is a rebuilding year (and probably next season as well) but the Lakers ALWAYS bounce back. Here's a little history lesson for you: Number of seasons the Lakers have missed the playoffs in last 30 years (including this year) = 3 Number of seasons the Clippers have missed the playoffs in the last 30 years = 23 First round wins in last 30 years for Lakers = 21 First round wins in last 30 years for Clippers = 2 WCF Semi's Lakers results: Appeared in 21, Won 14 WCF Semi's Clippers results: Appeared in 0 NBA Finals Appearances: Appeared in 12, Won 8 The Lakers know how to reload while the Clippers are only just beginning to learn how to win. Granted the Clips are loaded, especially with some of the FA signings this season but I doubt they make the WCF. As an aside, where do you think the Lakers would be if Stern hadn't vetoed the Chris Paul trade? Howard wouldn't have left if CP3 were there, so imagine AT LEAST Kobe, CP3 and Howard starting for the Lakers!

i am not saying they were not good but their are two camps in the NBA for the most part esp if you watched basketball in the late 80's early 90's I don't hate the lakers because of the clippers I just like the clippers better you really want to compare my two teams I like and why i despise the lakers is the celtics and the bulls now let's compare championships

I'm avoiding making a snarky remark about bandwagoners. However, I'll grant you the Bulls championships were remarkable (props to Phil Jackson for coaching them to 6 championships with basically only MJ and Pippen). The Celtics? Not so remarkable, considering that nearly all of theirs were won many years ago with a roster that reads like a HOF who's who. Anybody could've won with those line-ups in the Auerbach era. Also, in the What-Have-You-Done-Lately category, Bulls post-MJ and other than the Celtics 'Big 3' championship, what have either of those teams done?

oh no bandwagon here i still love my bulls just saying i prefer clippers over lakers.
the celtics/lakers rilvary was my first bball interest didn't have a clearcut team but liked celtics over lakers.
then i saw the bulls play and that was my team forever.
just the fact they got the beat that bad and it was the clippers is irrelevant I would have posted it if it was the nuggets/kings/warriors/spurs or any other team.
